Allan Ginsburg is a self taught contemporary artist based in The Woodlands, Texas.

Born in Houston and raised in Mexico City where he studied architecture in one of its most prestigious universities, he worked in some of the most prominent architectural firms in Mexico along with renowned architects like Sir Norman Foster and Fernando Romero. Then he opened his own architectural firm before moving to The Woodlands in 2020, seeking a better future and a safe environment for his family.

Coming from a jungle megalopolis as is Mexico City, he was mesmerized by all the nature surrounding him. Nature became the focal point of his artworks when he taught himself how to paint, choosing watercolor as his preferred medium not only for the incredible textures, effects and subtlety, but because in his eyes it is also the most “alive” since in essence it is water, the most basic element required to sustain life.

His latest collection of works “Stacking Stones” is based on rocks and stones, which he uses to represent people, places or feelings; often in just the ‘perfect’ balance.

He uses an illustrative approach that combines realism and a more stylistic aesthetic. Allan enjoys bending and breaking the laws of physics to invite the viewer to wonder and connect with the possibilities the stones can capture.
