Aliza J. Bejarano is a contemporary painter whose work reimagines the ordinary through surrealism, vibrant color, and immersive storytelling. Inspired by everyday spaces and interactions, she transforms familiar environments into dreamlike worlds where wonder quietly overtakes routine. Her paintings invite viewers to imagine new possibilities for the places we inhabit and the lives we build within them. Originally from Southern California and now based in Houston, Texas, Bejarano’s perspective has been shaped by more than fifteen years working across the arts.

In addition to her studio practice, she has served as a curatorial assistant in Los Angeles, worked in nonprofit arts organizations supporting artists and communities, taught hundreds of students, and collaborated with galleries, cultural institutions, and creative organizations. These experiences continue to inform a practice rooted in accessibility, curiosity, and meaningful human connection.

Her paintings have been exhibited at venues including the Latino Art Museum of Pomona, Bergamot Station in Los Angeles, galleries all throughout Southern California, El Paso, Houston, and Nice, France. Alongside her visual practice, Bejarano writes and speaks about creativity, the artist’s life, and building a more imaginative relationship with the world around us. Through her evolving body of work, she explores what might happen if we fully immersed ourselves in wonder.
